Such an awesome venue. We were guests at a wedding, and so this was the first time we'd been here. The whole hotel is really nice, with multiple function rooms, all of which were made use of by the wedding party. The place was lovely, super clean, and really homely. The room with the dance floor and bar was really nice too, a floor... with sparkly stars... sweet. There was an abundance of super friendly, super helpful staff. There were a good crowd of us, and none of us were left wanting or needing. We also had dinner, a 3 course meal which was also brilliant, come on, how many weddings have you been to, and the catering was "ok"? Not here, the food here was a delight. Top notch.
Exquisite Hotel... Nice rooms very spacious, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great had a huge selection and recommend you try the black pudding it's the best I've had... Never visited the bar facilities but we liked it so much we are going again tomorrow so may try the cocktails out this time. Rooms as moderately priced and I feel worth the money. My only negative thing to say is that the beds aren't the best I've slept in but they more than meet the needs

LOVED IT. Nice new rooms with new bathrooms. The food was unreal and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly from start to finish. The features of the old converted house still stand and you really get the feeling of grandeur walking up the main stair case (even if they have been made put up horrendous looking windows). The rooms themselves had nice new comfy double beds, new 32" tv, new bathroom suite... basically they're new top to bottom. I do know that only some of the rooms have been updated like this and it is an ongoing refurbishment so please bare that in mind when booking to ask reception.
Visited years ago for a wedding, this time on my own, late night check in was very welcoming. Rooms dated and could do with a update, no bottles of water in room like before. Otherwise a comfortable night's stay. Breakfast was a good start for the day. Would stay here again when visiting Kirkcaldy. Good price range and not to far a walk into the town.

Nice hotel, I think it has the potential for much more but the owners are leading it in a different direction. Although not a bad direction, I would still reccomend it.
Excellent food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere

The food is usually ok here. Not exceptional, but not too bad either. You can often get some nice wines here though, so kudos for that. I find it gets a bit noisy at times. You always get some people that think that "family friendly" means let your kids run around screaming everywhere and tripping people up. There is a play area,so be aware of kids coming running out of it to the rest of the restaurant. I nearly tipped a large, hot coffee over a small boy who ran in front of me while I was on the way to a table. Breakfast is really cheap, and you can get a vegetarian cooked breakfast. If you like a soft yolk on your eggs,be sure to ask for it,they default to hard... even on poached eggs.
The food was nice. Only thing is that we had to wait 30 mins for a table then when we got in there were around 7 tables the right size free the whole time we were there. The food took a fair while to come. Tip for them would to be give people waiting for a table a menu. Take their order and then when you've seated them give the order to the kitchen. Would work much smoother. The food is the reason they get 4 stars, worth going for. Could easily have been an off night.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
